Keep the Factory Running!

Saturday on the Network: Moving On

Hey Factory Fans!

Moving on from this whole Comic Book Peace Summit thing.  Below are my final thoughts on it until something significant changes.  If you have any ideas, I’m happy to discuss them in a civil manner.

At Super Frat, it’s Fat Guy Eats at Eden Korean Restaurant.

And the Quote of the Day is from Euripides:
“When a man’s stomach is full it makes no difference whether he is rich or poor.”

Thursday on the Network: No SJW’s, No Peace

Sep27

Hey Factory Fans!

Well, it doesn’t look very hopeful for the Comic Book Peace Summit.  I haven’t heard from anyone at comicsgate and the people I engaged on the other side were somewhat hostile to the very idea.  Mostly, they criticized my pitch (and some criticized me personally).  Apparently, SJW is a negative term for some, but not for others.  No one seems to agree on anything other than the unwavering feeling that they’re right.  I did get one or two comments on YouTube from guys that might be comicsgaters.  There weren’t many, but some of the hostility was there.

Part of the problem seems to be that there’s no real spokesperson for the anti-comicsgate side.  Most of that side is tripping all over themselves to show everyone how wonderful they are.  Although there were a few voices of reason, most of the attitude seemed to be “you’re either with us or you’re comicsgate” or “why aren’t you as upset as us?”  Things are just too raw.  Too emotional.  The echo chambers of the Internet continue to magnify the problem and there seems to be a real palpable fear that you’re going to be tarred and feathered by one side or another for taking the “wrong” position.

I don’t think peace going to happen, so I’ll stay in my webcomic bunker and watch the fireworks for a while.  Perhaps an opportunity will arise to pitch the idea again.  My prediction is that Marvel is going to get out of print comics collapsing the market.  DC will follow suit.  Image and a few other indy comics will hang on for a while, but the comicsgaters could end up kings of the print comic wasteland.  The timeline is roughly two years.  See you in the future, fanboys!

At Super Frat, it’s a new strip.

Validation is new.

And the Quote of the Day is from Bernard Meltzer:

“When you forgive, you in no way change the past – but you sure do change the future.”

Tuesday on the Network: Good Bye Summer!

Hey Factory Fans!

Well, I hate to see summer go, but at this point—  It’s nice to have some fresh air in the house.   Sure it’s rained like everyday since September started and I still have to wear shorts, but at least I’m not paying the insanely high electric bill.

Novella Update:  In case I forgot to mention it, I’m working on a series of new novellas to launch for download next year.  I’m almost finished #3.  It’s crazy good fun to write prose again, but hard to get enough pages!  It will, of course, take place in South Jersey.

The good people at Patreon decided I had too much “adult” content on their site, so now I’m in the mature section for some reason.  They haven’t answered my emails to exactly why, so I’m not sure what to do.  Anyhow, feel free to donate to keep the comics coming.  Thanks to all that do!

At Super Frat, it’s Why They Got Deleted.

And the Quote of the Day is from Albert Camus:

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Hey Factory Fans:

If anyone can forward my video link to the appropriate feuding parties, here it is again: The Comic Book Peace Summit.

So far, only 20 views, but at least I tried.

Validation is new.

And the Quote of the Day is from Michael Jordan:

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”

Also today, Your Fratoscope.

And the Quote of the Day is from Theodore Roosevelt:
“The most practical kind of politics is the politics of decency.”
