Hey Factory Fans!

Thanks to everyone who came out for Wizard World Philly.

At Super Frat, it’s Ten Fans I Don’t Want to See in Artist’s Alley.

And the Quote of the Day is from Mike Grell via the Lottery:

“I think that is the biggest mistake you can make, to try and write down to the audience.  If you underestimate the intelligence of your readers, it will just turn everything around.  It doesn’t take long for them to catch wise to that.”

Hey Factory Fans!

This is my last day at Philadelphia Wizard World, table 2360 in Artist Alley.  Stop by before 3:30pm.

At Super Frat it’s Your Fratoscope for June 2, 2013.

Don Edwards has some cool new posts on his art blog.

Harold George has your Sunday, The Funnicks.

And the Quote of the Day is from Ted Rall:

“Comics are too big. You can’t say any kind or genre of comics is better than another. You can say so subjectively. But to say it like it’s objective is wrong. It’s wrong morally, because it cuts out stuff that’s good.“

Hey Factory Fans!

Saturday is the big day at Philadelphia Wizard World.  If you can stand the crowds, come by table 2360, I’ll be in Artist’s Alley.  And stop by at 7pm in room 109 for my panel on how I went from print to webcomics!

At Super Frat, it’s another installment of Why I’m Not Seeing These Movies.

And the Quote of the Day is from screenwriter, Simon Kinberg:

“There are too many good comic book writers out there. I’d rather remain a fanboy.“

Hey Factory Fans!

Don’t forget, I’m at the Philadelphia Wizard World this weekend in artist alley at table 2360.  Stop by and say hi!  (And then, maybe buy something.)

At Super Frat, it’s Rewritten Headlines: Grumpy Cat to Will Smith.

And the Quote of the Day is from Steve Ditko via Ditko Cultist:

“Learn what is right & wrong about drawing or art. Practicing bad drawing habits is an awful waste.
Study anatomy – you should know what is under the skin and how it moves.
Study people – to see how he muscles & bones cause the various shadows, bumps & shapes – their gestures, emotions, habits – everything about them.
Study other artists – to see how they interpret anatomy, people, etc.
Everything today, whether it’s a light bulb or the English language – or a car, is the result of people building on the knowledge before us. Everyone adding something of their own.”

Starting today, I’ll be at Wizard World Philly in Artist’s Alley, table 2360.  See you there!

A new strip at Super Frat today as the bros get ready for their Summer Plans.

And the Quote of the Day is from Marv Wolfman via STL Comics:

“The companies are ageist, not the readership. They’ll buy whatever they like. In many cases the companies are right and the veteran pros can’t produce for today’s readership. Trouble is they make a blanket decision and rule out everyone and in many cases refuse to even look at new material from older pros. But then I feel that an equal number of so-called hot writers (of which I was one back in the 70s and 80s) also can’t write. It’s always been that way and probably always will be so it’s best not to get angry and simply do what one has to in order to survive.”
