L.A. and Phoenix Factory Stuff

Hey Factory Fans!

Wow! What a week! I went out to the West Coast to hang with Christian and help spread the word about the Webcomic Factory. It was an intense few days. In the beginning of the week, we had some bigtime, Hollywood meetings that went extremely well. Then we had our signing at the Comic Bug. It featured Hot Mess creators, Diana Falzone and Geoff Skinner.

(Pictured above: Webmaster Dan Taylor, Geoff Skinner, Diana Falzone, Lauren Perry, Producer Christian Beranek and artist Emily Chan at the Comic Bug.)

Also joining us was Super Frat artist, Chris Moreno.

(Chris Moreno draws a funny Captain America for a fan.)

Diana did a live, on the web interview via Paltalk at the Comic Bug.

(Webcomic Factory co-creator, Christian Beranek kicks off the interviews with Diana.)

(Contropussy creators Emma Caufield and Camilla Rantsen talk about their favorite feline with Diana.)

(Myself and artist Chris Moreno talk about Super Frat and marvel at Diana’s hotness, er I mean, Hot Mess.)

(Post signing meal at Chili’s.  Click the pic for the dirtier version on the Super Frat site.)

The Comic Bug and Paltalk really made the signing at success.  Thanks to them and all our talent for coming out.  Next, Christian and I piled into the Webcomic Factory van to hit the Phoenix Comicon.

Ah, the breathtaking Phoenix landscape.  98 degrees in the middle of the night.  You could cook an egg on just about any open surface or just sit in your car and watch animals burst into flame on the side of the road.

At the convention, the Phoenix people treated us right.  We got free food and plenty of attention.  That’s saying alot considering the sickload of comics we brought and the insane amount of table space we had.

We, of course, inducted new members of Super Frat into the fraternity.  Click here to check out the pics.  We sold tons of our newest print book, Japanese Schoolgirls in Love.  That’s right Factory Fans, we have a print book if you didn’t know.  It’s 33 pages and way ahead of the current storyline.  So if you don’t want to wait until Christmas to find out what happens, pick it up now.

Whew!  What a week.  Next up, Heroes Con and more cons this month.  Check our tour schedule to stay up to date as to when the Webcomic Factory crew is headed your way!

Talk show host Diana Falzone and The Webcomic Factory launch Hot Mess

Popular television talk show host and relationship expert Diana Falzone and writer/producer Geoff Skinner have teamed up with The Webcomic Factory to debut the webcomic HOT MESS. Based on the real-life challenges Diana lived through while growing up, Hot Mess tells the story of Anna, the new girl, who is just trying to make it out of high school intact.

Like all of us, Anna has a constant war raging inside her head, with all the different sides to her conscious vying for attention. In Hot Mess we’ll get to see these different personalities of Anna’s psyche – from the manic-depressive id, to the self-righteous superego – represented by different animals.

“Each of these animals constantly give their opinions on what Anna should do in all the social situations she encounters,” says co-creator Diana Falzone. “From confronting the mean girls to how to handle her first love triangle – and they’ll often butt up against one another and fight over who is right. The animals truly represent all the different, sometimes opposing voices that every teen has when it comes to life decisions.”

Hot Mess features artwork by newcomer Emily Chan and is produced by Christian Beranek, known for his work with Disney’s Kingdom Comics and recently the co-founder of The Webcomic Factory, a hub of daily online content that will be acting as an advocate for Hot Mess.

Sponsoring the launch is Paltalk, the premier provider of software and technology for real-time, rich media, interactive social networking. Paltalk will be hosting a live chat with Falzone and Beranek on May 26 at The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, CA at 7pm pst. To join the chat, please visit: PALTALK.COM/DIANAFALZONE
