Keep the Factory Running!

Monday on the Network: Validation Day!

Jun23
by Tony DiGerolamo on June 23, 2014 at 12:22 pm
Posted In: Blog

Lots going on with Validation today, Factory Fans.

There is an interview with Christian and Kelci at WatchPlayRead.

The latest Validation strip is posted.

And don’t miss Kelci’s comic, Johnson & Sir.

Completely unrelated to the interview, at Super Frat, my Life Skills for Fanboys post is about Fanboy Reporters.

Atomic Milkshakes is new.

And the Quote of the Day is from Geoffrey S. Fletcher:

“It’s so easy today to get swept up in celebrity fixation and materialism and searching for some validation outside of yourself when we know it’s really found within and through meaningful connections with other people.”

Sunday on the Network: It’s All About Politics

Jun22

Hey Factory Fans!

Ya know, I wanted to take a break with the Antiwar Comic for a while, but so many things are happening in the world, it’s hard to stay away.  I gotta big mouth and I like to talk politics!  I never used to understand why people wouldn’t discuss them, but they take politics pretty personally no matter where you go!

At Super Frat, it’s Your Fratoscope for June 22, 2014.

And the Quote of the Day is from Plato:

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”

Saturday on the Network: Hiding in Plain Sight

Jun21

Hey Factory Fans!

I’ve always enjoyed the idea of hiding in plain sight.  You’re looking for something and don’t see it, yet there it is right in front of you.  As in Lester’s strip today, I used it in The Travelers #6.  I think it says more about the people searching than it does about the person hiding.

Today at Super Frat it’s Ten Things I’d Like to See in the New Star Wars.  (I feel like I did this list once or something similar, but oh well.)

And the Quote of the Day is from Herodotus:

“Death is a delightful hiding place for weary men.”

Friday on the Network: A Ghostwriter’s Lament

Jun20

Hey Factory Fans!

Ghostwriting is weird.  Not that I’ve ever done it, because if I had I can’t talk about it.  I mean, if I did, I’d have to kill you.  But if I had ghostwritten anything, I’ll bet it feels weird to get paid to let others take credit for your work.  I’ll bet I’d be left wondering what sort of person needs to pay for creativity and the ego boo of “written by”.  Hmmm.

But as a freelancer, it’s whatever the client wants!

At Super Frat today, it’s Rewritten Headlines:  Revel to Rapper.

Atomic Milkshakes is new.

And the Quote of the Day is from Arthur C. Nielsen:

“Be influenced by nothing but your clients’ interests. Tell them the truth.”

Thursday on the Network: It’s All About the Fans

Jun19
by Tony DiGerolamo on June 19, 2014 at 1:17 pm
Posted In: Blog

Hey Factory Fans!

Having fans is an interesting thing.  It’s like having a group of extra family members that like you, but you never see them on Christmas.  However, they do send you gifts in the forms of cash, so every day is Christmas.  But while most fans are awesome, some take things written to heart a little too much and can’t separate the comics from the person.  The best you can do is try to teach them so they stay your fan and hope they don’t get embarrassed or angry when you correct them.  You want them not to, because you wouldn’t do that to your family, right?  And the whole reason why you do what you do is to make stuff for the fans and you really can’t do it with out them.

So thank you Factory Fans!  In case I haven’t said it enough before, you’re swell!

Today at Super Frat, it’s a new strip called It’s Only a “War”.

Validation is new as Ally has some thinking to do.

And the Quote of the Day is from Bob Dylan:
“What good are fans? You can’t eat applause for breakfast. You can’t sleep with it.”
