Keep the Factory Running!

Friday on the Network: Mafia

Hey Factory Fans!

Some of you may or may not remember that I made a game called Complete Mafia for d20.  Recently, I started playing it again and it was a lot of fun.  The history of the Mafia is pretty fascinating and stretches back to as far as 1282 believe it or not.  Like lots of things, it started as something kind of noble (the Rebellion of the Sicilian Vespers) and became corrupted by greed.

At Super Frat, it’s Rewritten Headlines:  O.J. to Mayor Dog.

And the Quote of the Day is from David Chase:

“When we were doing ‘The Sopranos’, I used to love that about it. There were rules, Mafia codes you had to go by, but the code is ridiculous. It’s a code among sociopaths.”

Thursday on the Network: Old School Comics

Hey Factory Fans!

We got all the comics represented on the site now.  New school is here and at MyDigitalComics.com.  But we can’t forget our history.  That’s why there’s great old fashioned comic book shows like Atomicon, our new sponsor.  It’s only a buck to get in and it’s right near the shore, so you can make a day of it.  Bring the kids and they get in free.  Plus Ken gives away all kinds of prizes.  It’s the longest running NJ shore con, so please come out and support it!

At Super Frat, Buzz and Dick get ready for class in Turning on the Tutor.

At Validation, Mr. Howard gets swamped by fans.

And the Quote of the Day is from Berkley Breathed:

“I drew the last image ever of Opus at midnight while Puccini was playing and I got rather stupid. Thirty years. A bit like saying goodbye to a child – which is ironic because I was never, never sentimental about him as many of his fans were.”

Don’t Miss Atomicon XXXI

Atomicon Batman Flyer small

Please welcome our new sponsor, Atomicon XXXI!

The Atomicon is the New Jersey shore’s longest running comic book show.  This month, it will be held on August 30, 2014 from 10am to 4pm at the Manahawkin, NJ Holiday Inn (at Rt. 72 and 9).  It’s only one dollar to get in and kids are admitted free!  My friend, Ken, runs the show and he’s an old school comic guy from way back.  That’s why you’ll find all kinds of comics from the Golden Age to the Present, as well as DVD’s, Toys, Action Figures and more!

Also, great thing about this show, plenty of free parking, free comics for the first 100 patrons and prizes!  Popular door prizes have been the Mystery Box O’ Stuff ($100 worth of merchandise), Bat Bux Showcash to spend at the show and a free gas card!  That’s a lot of stuff for a one-day show!  Plus there will be special comic creator guests and plenty of comic dealers.

This is a great day trip.  Afterwards, you can go read your comics on the beach!  Get the word out fans!

Email Ken for more details.  Dealer and Artist Alley tables are available while supplies last.

Wednesday on the Network: Honesty

Aug13
by Tony DiGerolamo on August 13, 2014 at 2:35 pm
Posted In: Blog

Hey Factory Fans!

Ya know, some people wonder what honesty gets them?  I’ve been honest to a fault sometimes and it often gets me into trouble.  Certain clients will drop me, certain people become angry—  But in the end, your word is all you have.  And when you do meet people that appreciate the honesty and understand what it means, you realize that’s the best route to take even if other people lie.

At Super Frat, it’s Twitter in Focus with Adam McKay.

And the Quote of the Day is from Groucho Marx:

“The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”

Tuesday on the Network: Charles Atlas

Aug12

Hey Factory Fans!

For those of you too young to remember, today’s strip is a parody of the Charles Atlas ad that used to appear in the back of comic books.  So get working out, Skinny!

At Super Frat, it’s The Only Sane Response.

And the Quote of the Day is from Neil Gaiman:

“The imagination is a muscle. If it is not exercised, it atrophies.”
