Keep the Factory Running!

Monday on the Network: Ebola

Oct06
by Tony DiGerolamo on October 6, 2014 at 1:08 pm
Posted In: Blog

Hey Factory Fans!

Don’t mind me, I’m just a germophobe, but this Ebola thing is freaking me out.  Wash you damn hands people!

The costume party continues at Validation.

At Super Frat, it’s Ten Things I Learned About Ebola.

And the Quote of the Day is from Dr. Tom Frieden, Director of the CDC:

“It is the world’s first Ebola epidemic, and it’s spiraling out of control. It’s bad now, and it’s going to get worse in the very near future. There is still a window of opportunity to tamp it down, but that window is closing. We really have to act now.”

Sunday on the Network: Lazy Sunday

Hey Factory Fans!

Just a lazy Sunday here at HQ.  Just finished up organizing the books for the last quarter, we finally got sponsors, so now I can rest a little!

Ahhhh.

Today at Super Frat it’s Your Fratoscope for October 5, 2014.

And the Quote of the Day is from Woody Allen:

“Not only is there no God, but try finding a plumber on Sunday.“

Saturday on the Network: Weekends

Oct04
by Tony DiGerolamo on October 4, 2014 at 12:05 pm

Hey Factory Fans!

Weekends used to mean something to me.  Back when I was in school or did the 9 to 5.  Now they are just days that I can’t go to the post office or the bank and suddenly my friends call in the middle of the day.  For some reason, I do tend to get more writing done on the weekends, so I suppose that’s something.

Speaking of writing, check out my rant at Super Frat under Life Skills for Fanboys:  Geek Feminists and DC’s T-shirts.

Christian has another interview at Women Write About Comics.

And the Quote of the Day is from Bill Waterson:

“Weekends don’t count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless.“

Friday on the Network: Vision

Oct03
by Tony DiGerolamo on October 3, 2014 at 4:11 pm

Hey Factory Fans!

You gotta have vision to do this stuff.  No, not that Vision.  I mean, the vision to see the possibilities.

Our sponsors have vision too, because they believe in us enough to support us with their dollars.  Let me tell you about them:

First up, our long time sponsor, MyDiGitialComics.com.  They have many digital downloads of comics, most of them free.  How can you go wrong with that?

Next up, Comic Book I-Con.  This is a comic book convention put on by the Iowa Comic Book Club.  I’ve been to a lot of shows, as many of you know.  For me, the best ones are put on by organizations like this.  When a fan club puts on a show, you can feel the love.  It’s not some corporate thing just to make money.  It’s for the fans, by the fans.  So if you’re in the Midwest, get yourself out there and spread the word.  Hey, maybe even join the club.

Finally, my good friend, Joe Aragon is putting together his Kickstarter for Mythos Arcanum.  I worked on this game for him and I think it definitely pushes some new boundaries in role-playing games.  One of the things I added was a unique character sub-class called a Veil Walker.  It’s kind of a combination of Jedi, Neo from the Matrix and a superhero mind power dude.  (Not Psionics!)  So imagine your wizard or fight or thief with tons of extra powers.  I think it would be pretty cool.  And the campaign setting is very unique too.

All three ads are here, the banner above and the two squares below.  Please click them and support us, by supporting them.

At Super Frat, it’s Rewritten Headlines:  Jeb Bush to Angry Birds.

And the Quote of the Day is from Jonathan Swift:

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.“

Thursday on the Network: Sexy Comics

Oct02
by Tony DiGerolamo on October 2, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Hey Factory Fans!

Oh, the sexy comic book covers.  Yeah, not really my thing.  I mean, if I want to see hot chicks, the Internet is right here.  Plus, even before that, we had these things call magazines.  They were like the Internet only made from trees and they were cheaper than comics and fives times as big.  I think the problem with sexy superhero covers is that the characters are all wearing stupid costumes, not just the hot women.

At Super Frat today it’s a new strip called Why Don’t They Lock the Door?

And speaking of costumes, Validation is right in the middle of a costume party.

Christian did an interview with the blog, In My Humble Opinion…

And the Quote of the Day is from Dick Van Dyke:

“Women will never be as successful as men because they have no wives to advise them.“
