Haven’t read your comic in a while but I see nothing has changed. So according to you, everyone should give Trump’s “Peace Plan” with North Korea a chance even though:
1. It makes no sense.
2. There is nothing behind it (no measurable objectives or timetable).
3. It throws American allies Japan and South Korea under the bus.
Trump gives North Korea something, a meeting with an American president and an end to American/South Korean joint training, while North Korea gives what again? Oh, that right, promises they have no intention of ever keeping.
Meanwhile Trump throws away a plan with Iran that, by all MEASURABLE objects, was working. Trump then renews the trade embargo against Iran and prepares for war. So America, under Trump, seeks “peace” with North Korea but is willing to go to war with Iran? Does that make sense? All of the above only makes sense if you are trying to destroy EVERYTHING with black man’s name on it (the current American/North Korea relationship; the treaty Obama signed with Iran).
Your argument doesn’t hold water and neither does Trump’s. If I was one of the people in Trump’s inner circle, I too would be trying to undermine him. Nothing Trump is doing makes any logical sense. The “peaceful” time (no new wars and good economy) Trump has gained from Obama will not save America from his actions (tariffs, pissing off allies, tax cuts by increasing federal debt, war on immigration) in the long run.
But short-term thinking is something Trump and his followers are very good at…
So you’re saying the quotes from Bob Woodward’s book are wrong?
