Hey Factory Fans!

Please welcome our newest sponsor, Game Play Gear!  Check out their line of game-related clothing!  And, don’t forget our other sponsors this month, Randomcomics.net, MyDigitalComics.com and Me Cam!  Remember, help us by helping them.  And if you make a purchase, make sure you mention The Webcomic Factory!

Today at Super Frat, it’s Twitter in Focus with Ken Marino.

And, just a quick reminder, the Antiwar Comic is being featured on the Stress Blog.  It’s run by the host of Antiwar Radio, Scott Horton.

And the Quote of the Day is from William Gaines:

“Entertaining reading has never harmed anyone. Men of good will, free men should be very grateful for one sentence in the statement made by Federal Judge John M. Woolsey when he lifted the ban on Ulysses. Judge Woolsey said, ‘It is only with the normal person that the law is concerned.’ May I repeat, he said, “It is only with the normal person that the law is concerned.” Our American children are for the most part normal children. They are bright children, but those who want to prohibit comic magazines seem to see dirty, sneaky, perverted monsters who use the comics as a blueprint for action. Perverted little monsters are few and far between. They don’t read comics. The chances are most of them are in schools for retarded children. What are we afraid of? Are we afraid of our own children? Do we forget that they are citizens, too, and entitled to select what to read or do? Do we think our children are so evil, so simple minded, that it takes a story of murder to set them to murder, a story of robbery to set them to robbery? Jimmy Walker once remarked that he never knew a girl to be ruined by a book. Nobody has ever been ruined by a comic.”

At Super Frat today, it’s a new strip called It’s Funny Because It’s Classified.

And the Quote of the Day is from Josh Baskin, as played by Tom Hanks in the movie Big:

“There’s this flat screen inside with pictures on it and you read it. And when you get down to the bottom you have to make a choice of what the character’s going to do… Like if he going to go in and fight the dragon then you have to push one of the buttons. … See, there’s a computer chip inside which stores the choices, so when you reach the end of the page, you decide where the story goes. That’s the point.”

At Super Frat, it’s Movies I Wish I Missed: The Last Man on Earth.

And the Quote of the Day is from Jonathan Shapiro:

“I see the cartoonist as contributing to the content, being critical, because we do poke holes in some of the dialogue and find new ways of seeing things.“

At Super Frat, it’s Twitter in Focus with Bo Burnham.

And the Quote of the Day is from Peter David:

“…the thing is every issue you always try to churn out a better issue than the one you did before, that’s just the creative impulse, you constantly want to improve. I mean I once, without being explicit as to who, I once read an interview with an artist and he said in the interview “if I never get any better than I am right now, I will be satisfied” and I was appalled. I was appalled. Who says that? Well I could tell you who said that, but I won’t. The moment that you say, “this is as good as I’m going to get,” you are dooming yourself to be in creative spin cycle.”  From ACN

Today at Super Frat, it’s a new strip called Double Date.

And the Quote of the Day is from Ray Harryhausen who just passed away today:

Monday on the Network…

Hey Factory Fans:

I thought since today’s Tony Destructo was pretty politic, it would be a good substitute for the Antiwar Comic today.  Don’t worry, it will be back next Monday.  And heads up, we’ve got a new webcomic premiering in the coming weeks.  It’s been in production since the beginning of the year and it’s completely different than anything we’ve done, I think.

At Super Frat today, it’s Fratty or Not Fratty with Pledgemaster Dick.

And the Quote of the Day is from Matthew Vaughn:

“You either ignore the comic book and make a great movie or you stay very close to the comic book.“
